Position Summary\n
The COTA Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant provides direct rehab care in occupational therapy to patients upon physician referral under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
\nEducation, Experience, and Licensure Requirements\n
\n - NBCOT certified upon hire, but renewal is optional going forward
\n - Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy (ASOT)
\n - Currently registered/licensed in applicable State. Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
\n - One (1) year experience in post acute care or related setting preferred
\n - CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.

\nSpecific Job Requirements\n
\n - Participates in community health matters/projects as appropriate
\n - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e mail
\n - Liaisons with patients, families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for patient needs
\n - Demonstrate good body mechanics at all times
\n - Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
\n - Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
\n - Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
\n - Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
\n - Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
\n - Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
\n - Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
\n - Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
\n
\nEssential Functions\n
\n - Follow occupational treatment plans for patients under the direction of the supervising OT
\n - Chart appropriately and timely
\n - Utilize therapy software appropriately and accurately
\n - Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
\n - Assist in the evacuation of patients
\n - Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
\n - Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
\n - Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
\n - Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
\n - Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
