Skin Care Specialists, PLLC is looking for experienced Dermatology Medical Assistants to join our team. The Medical Assistant will assist providers in medical services to our patients.

Prefer 2 years minimum experience as a medical assistant. Previous experience in working in a dermatology practice as a medical assistant is a plus, but not required. Duties include performing a wide variety of patient care activities, patient intake, assisting with surgical procedures, scribing for patient encounters, patient education and physician support.

Must have an outgoing personality, professional appearance and demeanor. The ideal person for this type of role is a good listener, outgoing and compassionate, organized and adaptable and an excellent problem solver. This vital role greets our patients, displays professionalism, and maintains confidentiality at all times. Must be reliable.

Must be capable of performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment. This is NOT an entry level position.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and room patients.
  • Entering visit information in our electronic medical record system (EMA); including patient medical histories, medications, allergies, etc.
  • Assist in patient exams and surgeries.
  • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of examination rooms; stocks assigned rooms, insures par levels of supplies are maintained.
  • Checks and completes required logs and equipment including refrigerator logs, eyewash logs, sample medications, and other required checks.
  • Responses to patient calls related to test results, medication refills, and referral requests under the direction of the provider. Manages prior authorization for prescriptions.
  • Schedules patient appointments according to guidelines as defined by standard work.
  • Participates with team to meet patient care and clinic needs, working cooperatively with others to accomplish required work in a timely and efficient manner.

Skills

  • Must have the ability to handle multiple priorities, ability to work independently, and possess good clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with EMR (Modernizing Medicine a plus), computer literate, willing to work hard and jump right in.
  • Professional demeanor required.
  • Excellent communication skills, team player, attention to detail and customer service is key.
  • Excellent time management skills.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
