Job Description Job Description Junior Accounts Payable Clerk Company: ANS Electric LLC Location: Las Vegas, Nevada Job Type: Full-Time Reports To: Accounts Payable Manager or Controller Role Overview ANS Electric LLC is a leading union electrical contractor in the Las Vegas area, committed to delivering high-quality service and reliable results. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk to join our accounting team. This entry-level position is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, supporting the financial health of the company, and helping us maintain excellent vendor relationships. Key Responsibilities The primary duties of the Junior AP Clerk will include: Invoice Processing: Receive, sort, and process a high volume of vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding and approval before entry. Enter invoices into the accounting software ( Foundation ) accurately and efficiently. Payment & Documentation: Assist with preparing and processing weekly payment runs (checks, ACH, wire transfers). File, maintain, and distribute AP documents, records, and reports. Ensure all necessary tax forms (e.g., W-9) are collected and maintained for new vendors. Support & Communication: Respond to and resolve internal and external vendor inquiries regarding invoice status and payments in a professional and timely manner. Assist in obtaining and tracking conditional and unconditional lien waivers from vendors. Assist with month-end closing procedures related to Accounts Payable, including accruals and reconciliations. Support the accounting department with ad-hoc projects and administrative tasks as needed. Qualifications and Skills Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus. Experience: 0-2 years of experience in an administrative, bookkeeping, or office setting. Direct AP experience is a plus. Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook. Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Attributes: Must be a self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred: Prior experience with construction or electrical industry accounting practices. Experience or familiarity with Foundation accounting software is highly desirable.
