JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing excellent customer service and representing McFarlane True Value in adherence to all company policies and standards in both retail store and rental area. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a customer friendly environment; greet and acknowledge customers, maintain solid product knowledge and outstanding standards; effectively and efficiently handle customer rentals; ensure rental items are in clean and operational condition; responsible for delivering and receiving of rental items.

• Maintain awareness of product information, merchandise promotions and advertisements; assist in floor moves, merchandising and display maintenance.
• Answer customer questions concerning location, price and use of merchandise; communicate customer requests to management, as needed.
• Assist with shipping and receiving.
• Load and unload items for customers.
• Operate forklift truck in warehouse.
• Set up tents and perform "tent crew" deliveries, as needed.
• Make customer deliveries such as salt, grills, fencing, and large equipment.
• Follow company customer service standards, policies and procedures; accountable for all safety procedures.
• Effectively & accurately process rental agreements with customers by phone or in person.
• Ensure customer understands how rental items operate and understands all rental rules (ex: date and time due and proper cleaning of rental item).
• Follow Check-out/ Check-in process; inspect rental equipment for damages, defects, or shortages.
• Monitor equipment and report repairs/ maintenance; tag equipment for cleaning/ repair; clean rental equipment, as needed.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized workstations (rental desk and service area).
• Work hours-variety of day/ evening shifts, including weekends; with open availability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE and SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Strong communication skills.
3. Ability to maintain excellent customer focus at all times with friendly, positive persona.
4. Ability to take initiative to ensure and accomplish all assigned duties and responsibilities.
5. Ability to work as part of a team and maintain positive working relationships.
6. Ability to conduct oneself in an ethical manner, with integrity to be honest; to be accountable and take responsibility for scheduled work times; and to be dedicated to the job with a strong work ethic and can-do attitude.
7. Valid driver's license with clean driving record; ability to move/ back-up large trailers

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this position, employee is regularly required to walk, stand; reach and extend to load items or carry items; bend, twist, squat, pull; and talk and hear. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 lbs. on occasion. Ability to work on tent crew pounding stakes, carrying poles. Must wear PPE while on the Warehouse Floor. Demonstrates accountability for all safety procedures, leading by example. Compensation based upon experience.
