Position Overview

The Senior Car Detailer / Valet is responsible for overseeing and performing high-quality detailing and light maintenance of company and personal vehicles. This position plays a key role in ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation. The role combines hands-on detailing expertise with coordination, leadership, and logistics support - including vehicle pick-ups, deliveries, and workflow management.

The ideal candidate is a dependable professional with strong attention to detail, time management, and customer service skills, who can mentor junior staff and maintain operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Detailing & Vehicle Care
  • Perform full-service interior and exterior detailing of vehicles (washing, waxing, vacuuming, upholstery cleaning, polishing, etc.).
  • Inspect vehicles for defects, damage, or required repairs and report findings to management.
  • Apply protective coatings, clean engine compartments, and maintain vehicle presentation to luxury or showroom standards.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning products, supplies, and tools, ensuring proper use and storage.
Fleet Coordination & Vehicle Transport
  • Safely transport vehicles between locations, service facilities, and job sites as assigned.
  • Manage vehicle scheduling for cleaning, service, and delivery.
  • Coordinate with team members and leadership to ensure vehicle readiness for customer or executive use.
  • Maintain vehicle logs, mileage records, and inspection checklists.
Team Leadership & Quality Control
  • Provide training and guidance to junior detailers or runners.
  • Monitor quality of detailing work to ensure consistent excellence.
  • Help establish and maintain standard operating procedures for detailing and vehicle management.
  • Support management with workflow planning and daily operational priorities.
Facility & Equipment Maintenance
  • Ensure detailing bays, tools, and equipment are clean, organized, and in working condition.
  • Identify and report equipment maintenance or replacement needs.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of professional luxury vehicle detailing experience
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record; comfortable driving various vehicle types (sedans, SUVs, trucks).
  • Knowledge of detailing chemicals, compounds, and tools (buffers, extractors, vacuums, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple vehicles under tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends or extended hours during peak periods.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience managing small teams or training others.
  • Familiarity with fleet management software or scheduling tools.
  • Light mechanical or maintenance experience.
  • CDL or ability to operate flatbed/box trucks (a plus).
