Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong) Localization QA Tester (Remote) in China

Welocalize is offering an exciting opportunity for those who enjoy a mix of linguistic and technical work. We are seeking a Localization QA Tester/Proofreader with native-level fluency in Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong) and strong technical skills.

In this role, you will test a variety of applications and tools, execute test cases, identify localization issues, and report them through our internal bug-tracking system. You will also verify fixes once implemented.

Position's details:

  • Contract: Open-ended
  • Location: Remote in China
  • Working Hours/Schedule: Full-time, 9 am to 5:30 pm
  • Salary: RMB 95,000/annually

Key responsibilities:

  • Test web-based systems and applications on Mac OS X and iOS
  • Execute test cases and scripts to ensure localization accuracy
  • Identify, report, and track localization bugs using an internal bug tracking system
  • Verify fixes and ensure linguistic and functional quality
  • Prioritize linguistic issues, distinguishing between critical and non-critical errors
  • Clearly document and communicate issue reproduction steps
  • Collaborate with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

  • Native-level fluency in Traditional Chinese from Hong Kong (grammar, vocabulary, composition, punctuation)
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Experience in translation, localization, or linguistic QA
  • Strong technical skills and ability to troubleshoot issues
  • Familiarity with bug-tracking systems and test case execution
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic setting
  • Must be legally based in the country listed in the job posting

Recruitment process:

  1. Signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)
  2. Taking a short language test in the native language
  3. Interview with a Recruiter
  4. If the first test is a pass, candidates are invited to enroll in a Learning Program specific to this project
  5. Invited to a remote Tryout test
  6. If it's a pass, interview with Vendor and Senior Project Manager
  7. If the interview is a pass, an offer will be sent
